Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
My ex husband filed for a child support modification in TN, told me he wouldn't be paying me as much but then bought a brand new car. I am filing for modification in FL. What happens now?

Well, one of you is right about the location of your child support case, the other is wrong. Probably you, since child-support is normally determined in the location where the pay payoff -- in your case the father lives. Since child support is normally lower in any state but Florida, he's probably right in that the child support will get lowered. You should speak to a Tennessee lawyer.
It depends on the court that issued the Final Judgment and where the child has lived for 180 days or longer. If the child has lived in Florida the last 180 days and a Florida court issued the Final Judgment then you should contact the Florida Judge ASAP and request assistance in having the Tennessee case dismissed pursuant to the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Enforcement Act. You need to speak with a Family Law attorney ASAP.
You have a jurisdiction issue. The State where the original order was entered will control the case.
