Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband is a goverment contractor working in tampa I live in Inverness fl only seeing each other at weekends.He now wants a seperation.At the moment he pays all the bills as I had to leave my job due to injury and can not get another job.I am a UK citizen but have permanent residency was due citizen ship this year.We got married in the UK and I sold my home and had all my belongings/furniture shipped here.The house is in both our names but we owe more than it is worth due to the economy.I owe over $1500 in debts household and medical bills.What can I do if my husband stops paying my bills.I have no money and nowhere to go back in the UK.please help I am sick with worry.

The law doesn't provide a remedy in this type of situation. You might consider an action for "separate maintenance," which most people call "legal separation." That will force him to pay child support, if you have kids, and alimony. He may just counter-file for divorce if you do that, though. You probably will want to consult a family law attorney in your area about obtaining alimony as part of a divorce.
