Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Husband left me and now is filing for divorce

After 15 Years my husband walked out and disappeared. He left me with nothing. I was evicted from my apt and the landlord kept a lot of my things because he claims my husband owed him. I am filing bankrupcy and have NOTHING. Is my husband libel for any of my debts we incurred while we were together? He is now filing for divorce, just as I was about to do same. Do I have ANY recourse??

As a general rule, he is liable for half the debts the two of you incurred during the marriage. By the same token, you are entitled to half the property the two of you acquired while married.

You may also be entitled to other things, such as alimony and child support, but you should discuss that with a family lawyer.
