Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
My husband and I were legally separated in1975 through his attorney's office.
I am now 71 and he reduced my check by $400 last year. I survive on his check plus social security. I have difficulty making my bills for the month. In my separation agreement the money was to be paid to me until my death. I want to challenge him but need to know if I should go forward with an attorney.
He lives in an oceanfront condominium and drives a cadillac. I'm sure he is not without funds.

It sounds like you need to file a motion for contempt against him for unilaterally reducing your check. The law doesn't allow someone to just reduce alimony payments without permission from the judge. It's always a much better idea to have an attorney to assist you with contempt motions.
