Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband and I have been named the legal guardians for my friend's minor child in the event of her death. If she should pass away will we be entitled to receive this minor child's social security death benefits she is already receiving for the death of her father seven years ago?

If the will is not contested, and the court allows her wishes, then yes. You will have to make arrangements with the ss office to become the payee.
