Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband has been raising a child for almost 6 years. He believed the child was his and tried to take the mother to court for support. Long story short we found out the child is not his, the court case has been closed with no custody arrangements so we still have the child. The mother has not had any contact or seen the child since the beginning of September. Would this be any grounds for abandonment?

You need to talk with a family lawyer. When a parent leaves a child with another person you need to decide if you wish to keep this child, then you need to get permanent custody. There are other issues, so please check with a family lawyer - consultations are usually free.
