Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My ex husband has recently served me some court papers saying that he wants full custody of our two children. Since he has served me the papers would it be wise of me to cease communication with him until it is settled?

You need to retain an attorney as soon as possible, unless you intend to give him full custody of your children. You have 20 days from the day you are served the petition to answer the petition. Don't wait until day 19 to look for an attorney....

You should keep the line of communication open for the children. I would not discuss the case with him. I would, however, obtain an attorney. When children are involved it is not a good idea to try and do pro se as there are NO DO OVERS>
