Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My ex husband reopened our divorce case to change custody. He has filed many motions that don't have the certificate of service filled out and I haven't received any of the paperwork filed. On the clerk of courts website it says a summons has been issued and returned I'm not sure what that means because I haven't been served with anything yet. What counter actions can I file or do on my behalf?

Some clerk's offices allow you to download all filed paperwork, so look online and see if you can download what he filed. If you can't download the paperwork, you can go to the clerk's office and get copies. You shouldn't have to do that; the petition should have been served on you and the other paperwork should have been mailed to you, assuming your husband has your correct address. The "return" entry on the clerk's website may mean that the petition was returned unserved. Once you have the paperwork, take it to a lawyer to help you take the next steps.

If the clerk says a summons has been issued then wait to be served or you can get the papers from the clerk and respond earlier.
