Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
My husband and I seperated in April and he let me take my personal stuff, but he has kept my sewing machine and jewelry box. They were gifts from him, but he says I have to pay for them or get a judge to say so. Is that correct> And also we have late chgs on our mtg that he knew about but is denying that he knew and says that I have to pay them before he will give me files that on the computer,of which are my business tax files( i have a tax prep business) and pictures of my grandson. He says that he wants to make sure all the bills are in order before I can have these. He has threatened to delete them if I piss him off. Is there anything I can do?

You'll have to file for divorce or legal separation so that your case can come under the authority of a judge. Until then, he can demand what he wants. If you file for divorce, a judge will likely order him to preserve property (not delete things) and divide things fairly between you. The judge will not be happy at all with him if he deletes your work files and pictures of your grandson.
File immediately for divorce so that a family law order will be issued preserving your property. Why are you letting him control you?
