Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband and I both signed a marital settlement agreement to finalize are dissolution of marriage for our divorce, the papers never got filed due to my in ability to come up with the restofthe money to pay the attorney, if I have a copy of the signed papers can I file them myself, and if so is theirs time limit in which I need to do this?

YOu still need to have a final hearing before the court. You take the papers to the judge during ex parte hearings (call the court and find out when this is) - only one of you need to appear. Present the papers to the judge and allow him to take testimony (not many questions - just verifying your signature and if you agreed). He will then sign the origina and issue the divorce. There is a form you will need to take with you for that - get it off the web - state whether you wish to change your name back to maiden name.
