If the marriage is salvageable, try to save it. If it is over, get a divorce.
Your son is "your son". The fact that he is adopted is irrelevant.
If dad doesn't financially support his son, then you can pursue child support. Child support can be pursued separately from divorce, but I generally do not recommend doing so.
How long have you been married?
What are the parties' comparative financial resources and incomes?
How old is the child?
If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.

An internet inquiry is no substitution for an in-office consultation with an attorney.
If your situation falls within the Greater Tampa Bay area, I would be happy to schedule you for a no obligation half hour office consultation. The main office is in Dunedin, with a satellite location in Tampa.

Definitely need more info. However, if you adopted this child - he is your child and you can ask for child support. Depending on the length of the marriage will determine whether you are entitled to any alimony and/or temporary support.
