My husband threatened to take away my paycheck if I didn't sign the divorce papers. Is this extortion?

How can he take your paycheck without your consent?
If the marriage is over, then it is over.
The law in Florida gives the judge discretion to hold one party responsible for all or part of the other party's attorney fees and costs. That depends upon the comparative financial resources of the parties. Therefore do not assume that you cannot afford an attorney.

Do you have any minor children.
How much do you earn?
How much does he earn?
Does either party have an interest in any land? If so, how much equity is there?
Does either party have any retirement accounts?
