Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
My husband walked out on me and his 2 step children, as well as all the bills, mortgage, etc. I completely understand how horrible this is but want to know my rights. The mortgage is in my name and the cosigner is my husband father. I cant afford to pay the mortgage myself and my father in law refuses to sign the loan modification papers. I am in a bind and would like assistance with the messy situation. I plan to move out of the house after next June and want my name off the mortgage and plan to move back to NJ but right now, I need to know what direction I should take. Thank you in advance.

Both you and your father in law are responsible for the mortgage. He should be cooperating for a loan modification in your name alone or selling.
