Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Husband's little brother living with us.

My husband's little brother is living with us because neither of his parents want him. The mother is still recieving child support payments from the father and when we arranged for him to live with us, she agreed to give us the support payments. I have not seen any money yet. Is there legal action I can take as far as adoption and support goes?

Re: Husband's little brother living with us.

Two entirely different matters.

If you want to adopt the child, get the mother's consent. She won't get any more support payments and neither will you. The ex-will be off the hook.

Secondly, the mother said that she would give you the support payments and she hasn't it, hum? If you know where the ex-husband is, you might contact him about the arrangement and see if some semblance of sanity can be reached. The support is for the CHILD. Maybe it can be re-directed to you. If court-ordered, you are probably back in court.
