Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband's ex-wife has decided she wants custody of their 2 girls. She left 5

My husband's ex-wife left him, his 2 daughters (4 and 10 years old at the time)and their business in March 1995. She flat out told him she didn't want the girls. They are 10 and 15 now(9/25 she will be 16).We have been married for over 3 years and have been raising the girls together along with my 2 boys (twin 9 yr olds) and our baby. We have a nice family established. I met him after the ex was gone for 1 year so I have been in the girls lives for 4-1/2 years. She does see them regularly now. She is on her 3rd live-in boyfriend and now all of the sudden thinks that the girls should live with her and her boyfriend. She only discusses this with the 15 year old who is very confused about it all. If the ex pursues this issue legally, do we have a good chance of keeping custody?

Thank you for furnishing such a clear factual presentation.

The former moother must bring a complaint to the court alleging that circumstances have changed that the childrens' best interest would require that change. I doubt that she can succeed. Keep up the good work! JMC
