increase child support

I have lived in florida for 3 years i was divorced in illinois in 2000 do i have to go back to illinois to have child support increased or can i do it in florida even if the venue is in illinois

Re: increase child support

Under Florida law, you must sue in the state where the child support payor lives. Illinois law may also allow you to sue in Illinois, but you'd have to ask an Illinois lawyer about that. You can also get assistance through the Florida Department of Revenue.
