Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Information Needed

A friend of the family, a 16 yr. old girl, has asked to live with me & my husband. Her grandfather has legal custody of her, but he lives with his son & the son's new family who this girl cannot get along with. We were told she is mis-treated by her father. This young girl has been up-rooted and moved from towns & schools for many yrs. My husband & I are willing and want to help her by letting her live with us, and providing a safe & stable home; but we are concerned about the legal aspects of the situation. If she becomes ill, who will be responsible for her Dr./hospital bills? She told us that her Medicaid had expired, but that her grandfather was suppose to renew it. What else should we know and what other questions should we ask before we commit to her moving in? Please advise, any information you can offer us would be greatly appreciated. This girl truly needs our help, and we want to make sure we have all of the bases covered, and that there will be no legal problems by us taking her in. Thank You.
