Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Inheritance consideration for alimony support
If a wife receives an inheritance from her father, and
keeps the income separate from her marital assets;
and her husband of 25 years, who makes considerably
more money than her, divorces her: would this
inheritance money make a difference in the amount of
alimony and child support the husband would have to
pay? In other words, would the husband have to pay out
as much to her (due to the differences in salary), since
she has inherited money from her deceased father?
