Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Injunction on behalf of minor

If an injunction for repeat violence is issued on the behalf of a minor and there is no termination date (instead of a date it says ''by order of the court'') what happens when the minor reaches the age of majority? If the minor does not want to injunction in place does he have to go to court to request it be removed or does it automatically end since he is no longer a minor?

Re: Injunction on behalf of minor

The injunction remains in place, even though the minor reaches majority and, once the child turns 18, the minor would then have to file a motion to disolve the injunction if he or she did not want the injunction anymore.
