injunction

i have to go to court on July 20,00 as i served my husband with domestic violence injunction papers on july 10, and i need to know if i will need a lawyer for this hearing and what happens at a hearing like this, will i have to tell my story in front of a judge, could you please let me know as soon as possible if i need to take a lawyer with me, i am very scared of my husband and it took me 17 years to do this, i would appreciate it so very much for your answer. thank you

To answer your question directly, You do not need an attorney at this stage. However, in order to sustain your action it is necessary to prove that you have been harmed or have a genuine fear..not

simply anxiety because he yells. Bring any witness who has first hand knowwledge of any physical abuse or threats. Also photos of bruises, destroyed property, etc, would be helpful. Affidavits and letters from others will not be considered.
