Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I need inmediate advise.
I have two children that have visitation with thir father every oyher weekend.I am having a problem with my sixteen years old son because I have certain rules that he needs to follow and he does not like.He wants to be allowed to come home late like 3,4 or 5 AM.He wants to drink alcohol when he goes to parties. He tested positive for a home drug test recently.I try my best to ground him and make him follow the rules but he is acting defiant citing his father because he allows him to come home any time and to drink alcohol and he does not support me if he is grounded. I am going to ask for professional counseling but I want to Know what can I do legally regarding his father's parental responsibilities because I believe that by acting so negligent he is endangering my son's welfare.I want to help my son but it is very difficult when his father does not cooperate.Should a teenager be allowed to come home so late and drink? I don't think so. This is my son and I must do anything to help him.

You can ask the court to revisit the scheduled visitation and ask the court to modify certain provisions to help insure that when your son is with his father that he is not being put in harms way. However, the court cannot make someone who is a poor parent a good one.
