help please
Hi my name is--name removed--.. my girlfriend and i are raising a little 18 month old... we have had him since he was 6 months his mom is in kail now has been since this past may and will be there unill next may/.. we were raising him before she went to jail.. I feel she is keping him because she wants the money we have tried to get her to sign something an she wont... It sucha struggle because we have had him since he was 6 months old an he is now 18 months... i just wanted to know if you could help point me where i need to go.. im not a relative i was just a friend of the moms... can you help us..?

You can apply to the court for a guardianship of the child. If the court appoints either one of you as the guardian of the child, you can then apply for aid including possible social security or aid from the State of Florida.
