Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Judgement
I was wondering how one files a judgement against someone without the other party being advised of its doing? My ex wife on 2 occasions has filed a judgement and the only way i knew was to check the public records on line and order a copy to see what its for. How can I stop this? Press charges for defimation of character? Patiently awaiting your response.

Re: Judgement
As I do not have all the facts of your scenario, this is not a formal legal opinion.
However, as an overview, you should check ...go review, the court file for the case where the judgment came from. Look to see if Defendant (you) were served properly. This means by a process server or by publication if plaintiff did not know your whereabouts. You should have been served with a summons...notifying you of the lawsuit and your time period to file a response.
If one was not notified properly of a lawsuit and a Final Judgment was entered, you can file a motion to set aside the Judgment with the court.
