Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
judgment against ex-wife
My ex-husband filed a petion against me to terminate my alimony on the grounds of co-habition. The case went to trial and he was awarded attorney's fees of $18,000. to be paid within 15 of the judges ruling. He was also awarded repayment of alimony in the amount of $18750.00 to be paid within 90 days of the ruling. I am unable to pay these amounts as I don't have the money. What can I do? can they send me to jail? I have 2 minor children and have not worked for the past 15 years. I cannot file bankruptcy as all I have is my home. Please help me.

Re: judgment against ex-wife
1. There is no debtors prison in the USA
2. You have 30 days from the judgment to file an appeal.
Good luck.
