Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Keys to home

Hi my husband has cheated on me and has moved out of the house. He's been out of the house for about alomost a year, I've just learned that his girlfriend is pregnant. He wants a key to the house for what I don't know. he has called the police to demand a key to our home, yes our home we both purchased. the police told me he has every right to have a key to his home. I did give him the key after I changed the locks, my ??? is does he have the right to have a key to the house for what he has done and for leaving the house without paying any bills or mortgage payments? Please respond ASAP!!!

Re: Keys to home

Unfortunately, if you have not yet filed for a divorce and the house is in both of your names, he still has a right to the property. You need to get an attorney to file for divorce and start the process that will eventually end with splitting up your joint assets. You can address the money you have personally paid since he left in the divorce proceeding.
