Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Late Child Support Payments

I have been divorced for 3 years and due to the way my company pays I send 3/4 of my court ordered support payment every 3 weeks. Which works out to the same amount of money at the end of the year. However, my ex has now sent me a letter from her lawyer stating that since I have a laps in the amount on some months that I now owe an interest payment to her on the difference. Is there such a penalty that I have never been informed of as her and her lawyer are talking a large amount of money?

Re: Late Child Support Payments

The law does refer to interest, however, it is not guaranteed. This is an issue that would have to be litigated.
