Is it to late to request child support?

I had custody of my teenage daughter from 6/2000 until 7/2002 with no child support from the mother. My daughter begged me not to get support court ordered because her mother told her she wouldn't have money to eat if she paid the support. Is it to late to request reimbursment for thes years?
