Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Are there any laws allowing grandparents to see their grandchildren especially when one is extremely ill ? Or any other law that can help.

If the grandchildren were born out of wedlock or if the marriage between the parents of the grandchildren have been dissolved (they have divorced), then grandparents can file a petition for visitation. The court will determine if visitation is in the best interest of the grandchildren. Best interest will be determined by factors such as (but not limited to) the length and nature of the relationship that the grandparents have with the grandchildren and the grandparents willingness to foster and encourage the grandchildren's relationship with the parents. The matter must be mediated before it goes to a judge for a hearing.

If the parents are not married you can file a petition and attempt to get contact with the grandchildren. Contact my office for free consultation 727-446-7659
