Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

why did he get a lawyer?

my son is a little over 2years old. his father has never seen him or has never did anything to help support his child. our court date got pushed back because he got a lawyer. why would he need a lawyer? what do you think he is trying to do by getting a lawyer? and i know for a fact he is not trying to get custody. so what could he be doing?!

Only he can answer that, but maybe he wants to make sure that he complies with the law and will not be taken advantage of.
