Do you mean move away? If you permanently move more than 50 miles without consent of the other parent or a judge, you are in violation of Florida Statute 61.13001, and you could lose custody. If you move less than 50 miles, you could still jeopardize your custody if you don't at least notify the other parent, but you don't need permission.

If you are just talking about a trip, you should notify the other parent. Not notifying the other parent about a trip could hurt you in a future claim for custody or for failure to coparent.
