Left out in the cold dad over childs adoption

my ex-girl and i had a child together. She wants to put him up for adoption. My name appears on the birth certifacate as being the father.What i want to know is do I have any rights,and does she need my signature to proceed with the adoption,which i'a appossed to. Thanks

I suggest that you file a Petition for Paternity immediately. This is a proceeding which brings out the issue of who the father is of the child or children and sets to prove this issue. You presently have NO rights. RUN, don't walk to the circuit court with a petition for paternity and for child custody. It is apparent that the mother cannot or will not care of your child.JMC
