Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I need some legal advice and a family attorney. Im trying to get custody of my 7 year old daughter. Her mothers parental rights were taking from her for alcohol and drug abuse and some child neglect. Her grandfather now has guardianship of her. I was granted visitation and he has violated the court order and will not allow me to see her. I would like some advice as to how to approach this. I dont have the money for the retainer . Is there any way to get a court appointed lawyer for this type of case

I hate to be negative but you are in the worst of all worlds. Once a grandparent has custody they usually feel no one will protect the child but them. I have seen GP's spend over $ 100,000 to proteect their grandchild from a non-offending parent. You can file a Motion for Contempt without a lawyer but you really need one. Depending on your county of residence there is usually no free legal assistance.

I agree with Mr. McCall. You need to go ahead and file the Notice of Motion for contempt and ask for a hearing date, have the grandparent served and attend the hearing. Prepare the Motion explaining the contempt that has occured. Go by the order that allows you visitation and explain each and every time you have not received the visitation - explain all that you can in that Motion. Good Luck
