Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Is this legal and can my divorce be revisited?

My X was awarded the marital home (to sell) and the savings accounts to pay off the marital debts. Most of which were his anyway.

Not only did he not pay any of the marital debts, but he filed bankruptcy. He got to keep the house (homestead in bankruptcy) . The divorce decree doesn't desginate a date as to when he has to sell it, so he says he can keep it indefinitely. Also, in the bankruptcy, none of the marital bills with my name on it were dismissed. Now I have received a tax notice from the IRS saying I owed 3,000 taxes from a year in which he and I were married. That should be one of the marital debts. Plus, I neither signed this tax return or knew anything about it. I called the IRS and they said they don't get into divorce problems and I owed it. I also told them I didn't sign it. They said a signature with my name was on it.

I want to know if he can legally get out of his obligations by filing bankruptcy. He lied to the court since he was the one that suggested to the courts he be awarded the marital assets to pay the debts. Meanwhile he is debt free living off a nice salary, I am still paying the marital debts in my name, but worst of all battling the IRS.

My question is this, can I reopen a divorce case ?

It sounds like your ex-husband should be brought before the court on a motion for contempt and enforcement. You should contact a qualified family law attorney.
