Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am the legal father (on the birth cert.) to two girls. Their mother and I were never married. I went to jail for 6 months, when I got out I found out my ex took my kids and moved out of state with them. I have been in contact with her family here in Fl. No one knows where she is. She won't give her family any info, address ect. All I have heard is South Carolina, but no city, no town. Nothing. I think she is staying with her current boyfriend's family. How can a parent take another parent's kids and move them out of state and not tell anyone their were abouts. I have my children's Birth Cert. No parent has custody or for that matter no legal actions for anything have happened. What are MY rights as a father???? Please help my girls are my life!!!! There has to be something in the laws that make this wrong!!!!!!

You may have to hire an investigator. Once the Mother establishes a new residence with the children and 181 days have passed a Federal law declares the new state the "Home State" for purposes of litigation. In your situation once she is away for 181 days South Carolina becomes the home state and any litigation would be there and under South Carolina law.
