I got married to a man in 1996 who thought he was divorced from first wife. Had circumstances arise where i found out he wasnt. He didnt believe me. So a few years ago i did research and proved to him he wasnt. He did get his divorce finally but we had already been married 8 years is it still legal since we didnt get remarried.

No. You are probably not legally married. Since your husband was already married when you thought you got married, your marriage is probably considered a void marriage by the court or as if it never happened as bigamy is against the law in Florida.
This is an unusual situation which should be rectified to protect your rights in the future. You should either speak with the clerk's office at the courthouse or an attorney and explain the situation to obtain advice on what to do.
