Through a proper court proceeding, a DNA test as well as other relevant evidence should in general defeat a name on a birth certificate for paternity and child support purposes (the name on the certificate has very little legal significance in the state of Florida). I would suggest you consult with an attorney before proceeding to attempt to eliminate child support and your paternal rights (if applicable).
