Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My Legal Rights in Shared Custody

I have shared custody of my son, my ex-wife has primary custody. She will be leaving to go out of the country for over a month 1/2. My son will be staying with me.When my son is with me durning that time is it my resonsability to take him over to her parents so that he can talk with him on the internet,or with her gone do I now become the primary parent until she returns?

Thank You

Re: My Legal Rights in Shared Custody

While you may technically be the primary residential parent during your wife's absence, it would be wise to continue to foster a good relationship. I would certainly suggest that you encourage your son to keep in touch over the internet with his mom (if that is whom you meant in your question). The custodial parent should always keep open lines of communication with the non-custodial parent. If you do not, you are risking having your spouse do the same to you or the wrath of the Court.
