Am I Legally Married???????????

I just noticed something as I was going through the public official record on my computer.

My husband had filed for a divorce from his previous wife and we got our marriage license and was married 3 days later.

I just noticed his divorce was recorded on 6/1/04

we were married on 5/6/04 and was recorded that day.

seems his divorce was recorded the following month.'

Does this mean We are NOT married?

I am confused

You are not married, and he may be guilty of bigamy, a felony in Florida. Your "marriage" is a nullity, and you'll have to get a new marriage license and have a new ceremony.

If you don't want to be married to this man, you could simply walk away. However, for a number a reasons too long to go into here, you'd be much better off having a judge grant you an annulment. That way, you'd have a legal document proving that you were never married.

Don't be too surprised by this. This sort of thing happens more often than people think.
