Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Legally separate myself from parents

My parents have been abusive and threatening. My parents have been very cruel to me and my husband. I want to legally separate, or divorce, myself from them. I do not want to be legally tied to them in any way. I do not wish to be legally listed as their child - I want none of their inheritance or anything that has to do with them. I don't want them to be able to claim me as their child and I do not want them to have any legal claim where my children are concerned. They have physically and emotionally abused me and I just want to find a legal way to get them out of my life. Please help!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Mr. Field. The only other thing that I could suggest is that you create a will to make sure that your parents have no control over your children should something unfortunate happen to you and your husband.

Since you are married, you are already emancipated. Your parents have no more legal control over you than anybody else. Consult with a local attorney about getting a restraining order.
