Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I live in FL and divorced in July 2007. I have been unemployed for about 1 year since that time. I was told I would have to wait 3 years to modify the child support payments. My questions are twofold:
(1) Are my chances likely of getting the child support payments increased? and (2) Based on the housing market in 2007 in FL and what it is now in 2010, can I get a modification of the additional $40,000 (I already paid $70K) I am court ordered to pay next year based on the value of my home drastically dropping?

1. unlikely, the court will want to know why your not working.
2. unlikely, since the agreement was based on 2007 rates.
