Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I live in Florida and am trying to determine whether it would be beneficial to file for a divorce now or wait. I will be legally married 10 years on October 29th, and I am not sure if Florida automatically awards alimony after 10 years or if the length of the marriage is irrelevant and its solely based on the payee's standard of living. I also have heard that house and senate bills to reform the alimony laws in Florida should be reviewed again in 2013 and wonder if it is worth it to wait to see how that works out.

Your marriage would be considered a short duration. alimony is based on need. Did you give up your career. Do you have any working skills, etc. Florida does not automatically award alimony.
