Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I live in St. Lucie county Florida. I am legal guardian to my two nephews(my sister's kids). They were adopted by my parents (legally my brothers now). My parents passed away and I am now their legal guardian. They receive death benefits and a portion of them are court ordered to me for living expenses. They both have inheritences from my mother in cd in their guardianship accounts. I am trying to apply for medicaid for them but the application keep asking for my income but they, in my mind, are their own little household. I am their legal guardian and I don't believe that I am responsible to pay for their healthcare. I can't seem to figure out how to reflect this on an application. They ask for all of MY financial information but I don't see why what I make matters. I have not adopted them and they are not foster kids. As their plenary guardian, must I pay for their insurance and does my income matter? Does their inheritance or death benefit count as income to be measured? Please help!

YOu need to hire an attorney for dependent care that can help you with this. Otherwise, set an appointment with the Medicaid office and get them to help you complete the forms.
