Live Out Of State where Divorce was filed

Wife filed for divorce in Florida, I live in South Carolina. Understand that because I live out of state court can not award any judgements against me, child support(I am sending suuport on my own accord), divison of prop, etc. I have requested extensions on all actions until I can travel to Fl. How long can I put this off until I can get to Florida to seek representation?
