Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
How long must a child live with his father to establish legal custody of said child?
1 Answer from Attorneys
It does not work that way. I am assuming you were not married to the mother. In that case, you need to have a Court establish your parental rights. This requires an actual court proceeding.
How long has the child lived with you?
Are you on decent terms with the mother?
If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.
