Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

i was mailed a letter stating that i must be at court tomorrow at 9:30am for a motion for referral to mediation for child support. My son's father attorney mailed it to me. Was I supposed to be served? And if i dont show up what are the consequences?

Mail is service once the court has jurisdiction. Go to the hearing.

You don't get "service" by a process server or a sheriff after you have been served with the initial complaint/action. Mail is service. If you don't show-up, you don't have a say at the hearing. The judge will decide something without you being there.
