Does a man, who has been separated from his wife for several years,have any responsibility for the newborn
baby ( who is not his) of his wife?

Legally you are responsible unless you file paternity suit to remove you.

Yes. The child is legally the husband's, as much as if the child were biologically his. In order for the father to have no repsonsibility for the child, the husband or wife would have to file a disestablishment of paternity suit as part of a divorce action and the mother would have to file paternity against the biological father.
