Marital Assets

Are marital assets divided equally in a divorse after 25 years of marriage no matter who's name the assets may be in such as retirement, stocks, bonds etc?

In a perfect world yes. However, it depends on several factors that we just cannot answer here. First, if your spouse had property (e.g.) house in his/her name before marriage, then you would be entitled to the increase in value over the marriage, etc. There are many other factors as well. Given that you mentioned pensions, retirement, stocks, etc. and the great length of your marriage, I strongly suggest that you meet with an attorney as soon as possible. If you have been served with a petition for dissolution, you have a limited time to answer. I hope this helps.
