marriage
i am thinking of married to a man from texas, and he owes child support, i own my own home ,can the state of texas hold me accountable or put a lean on my home?

Based on the limited information provided, our response is No. Your property at the outset of marriage is not marital property and therefore cannot be used to satisfy his obligations. Of course, you would be advised to maintain such property only in your name, separate from his property. You are advised to consult with a family law attorney regarding options and methods to insure that your property will not be used to pay such obligations.
