Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I married a Brazilian man (illegal) here in Florida in Feb, 2007, he left for Brazil in Aug. 07.

He has not returned, on e-mails he says divorce is ok and he will sign to complete a divorce..

Do I need to get and attorney or can I file this myself or do I use abandonment as an issue and can I file that myself?
