Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Me and my ex ( whom I was never married to)have a child together. I live in RI and he lives in FL. He filed Dissolution of marriage in FL. After a year fight over jurisdiction I gave up fighting. We agreed to go to mediation but haven't yet and my ex wants to take our son to FL for visitation. He doesn't pay child support and due to financial circumstances I can get down there to complete the mediation process. What shall I do? Can I get in trouble for not letting him take him?

If y;ou were never married, how has he started an action for dissolution?. Mediation can be done by telephone with permission.
Not sure what is going on here. If you were never married, then exactly what did he file because a Dissolution of Marriage means you would have to have been married. Secondly, if you never married this man, why are you allowing him visitation with no child support. I suggest you get some legal help where you are. Mediation can be done by telephone but I suspect you really need some legal representation otherwise you may lose the custody of your child with no really know what this person has filed and what you think in your mind is really going on.
